A bit here and a bit there! Renovation is the keyword here at Tolvsbo right now.

In January we started renovating Drängstugan. We’ve replaced and painted the walls and redone the floors… We enjoy doing this, Reinder handles the carpentry and heavy work, and I take care of everything related to painting, cleaning, and tidying up. And now it’s ready to be rented out, and we’ve already welcomed our first guests!

In February, we continued with the sanitary installations. We want to do it properly from the start, so it’s quite a big job. The spaces where the toilets used to be have been completely stripped down; from ceiling and walls to the entire floor. But we’ve also taken down the rooms behind, including an office and the old bar from when it was a dance hall!! Now there’s a large open space that we’re rebuilding. New drainage pipes have been installed, the floor has been redone with good insulation. The new wooden ceiling is also in place and the first new walls are up. There will be 4 toilets, sinks, 4 showers, and accessible toilets. We’re excited about the final result, but in the meantime, we’re pushing through! 🙂

Besides the renovation, we’re not sitting still. We plan to open the doors during Easter, with a little café, activities for the kids, and the Vintage Shop Fina Gamla Saker will be open! And of course, you can sneak a peek at how things look right now.

Tolvsbo Inn was mainly a restaurant, but our vision is a bit broader… We dream of our future campsite, where you can camp in your own motorhome or in our glamping tents. Where a family can enjoy a week’s holiday in our large holiday home, where you can take a SUP board out on the lake, grab a fika at our café, or where couples can celebrate their wedding party! And of course, we focus on the Christmas buffet every year.

We manage quite a lot ourselves, but cooking isn’t our strongest suit. Roswitha still helps us from time to time, but that won’t work forever. So here’s a little call out: if you’re a business owner and also a chef, it would be lovely to meet you! Bring your amazing ideas!

See you!

Hugs!
